WineBanq - Quick Start Guide

Welcome to the WineBanq (and Home Winemaster) Quick Start Guide.

Important Information

The location for user files has changed in WineBanq 2008. They can now be found in the following locations:

  1. Windows XP - <Installed Directory>\Documents and Settings\<Current User Name>\My Documents\WineBanq 2008
  2. Windows Vista - <Installed Directory>\Users\<User Name>\WineBanq 2008


User files are any files that are not directly related to the running of the application. This includes:

  1. Database files
  2. Configuration files
  3. Images
  4. Import and Export files
  5. Custom Reports and custom charts
  6. Search filter files

The advanatage of this approach s is that each user setup for the local computer can now have their own cellar. This was not possible with previous versions.

Running WineBanq for the first time.

When you first start WineBanq (or Home Winemaster) , you will no data in the system to use for your cellar records. To help you get started a number of pre-defined data files have been provided. They include data for:

  1. Wineries
  2. Wine Regions
  3. Varieties
  4. Wine Categories
  5. Reasons why wine is removed from your cellar
  6. Bottle Sizes


To import the data, please perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the Options tab.
  2. Select Import Data.
  3. Click on Open to locate the data files. The data files will be located where you installed WineBanq in a subdirectory \Sample Data.
  4. Select one or more of the sample data files that are required. Click Open.
  5. Press Start to begin the import process.
  6. When the import has completed the data will be available for you when you begin entering wines into your cellar
